Downtown Las Vegas the Holsum lofts, an old commercial bakery converted into funky commercial space. Went to lunch at a Louisiana style restaurant called Lola’s was pretty good. Tried to get a different angle on the sign out front, not exactly what I wanted.
Reading: Chapter 6 CLS book.
Web Site or Blog: Looked at a few today, for some reason this post on caliber is the one I find most interesting. http://calibersf.com/2009/11/24/the-city-that-knows-how/ . Probably as much for the Herb Caen quote as for the photography. I grew up reading the SF Chronicle and Herb Caen was always the first thing I read. From when I was in high school until Mr. Caen passed away I always found his column interesting along with Art Hoppe they sold a lot of newspapers. I think newspapers would have more value in todays market if they had more columnist and special local features and spent less time reprinting wire copy news. When I am out flying domestically I can read the same story in 5 different cities newspapers and usually its old news by the time its been printed.

hey, thanks for that 3rd paragraph. i dont meet too many ppl that actually read Herb when he was around — and i wasnt around either.
